Description And Features

DCL32 is a very cost-effective product usedto remove free and combined chlorine from reverseosmosis and ultrafiltration feed waters. This liquid productis a high-quality solution of sodium bisulfite (NaHSO3). Feed waters to membrane systems often contain chlorineto treat and prevent microbiological growth prior to themembrane separation process. This chlorine, however,can irreversibly damage thin film composite membranes byoxidizing the membrane surface. The sodium bisulfite in DCL32 quickly deactivates chlorine andprotects membranes from damage.  DCL32 is certified by NSF International toNSF/ANSI Standard 60, and the ingredients are generallyrecognized as safe by the FDA for use in either human oranimal food.

Application

4.44 ppm of DCL32 are required to remove1 ppm of chlorine, measured as total chlorine. DCL32 is a food-grade solution with NSFapproval. It has potable approval for dechlorination with amaximum use level of 15 ppm (mg/L). DCL32 application dosages should belimited by the chlorine demand. It has been observed thatan excess of sodium bisulfite in the RO feed water mayincrease the incidence of microbiological growth inmembrane systems.

Stability

Please refer to the Safety Data Sheet for stabilityinformation. The product may be slowly degraded byoxygen after the package is opened; the rate ofdegradation increases with higher temperatures. Whenusing in an open day tank, do not use agitation and monitorthe active concentration on a weekly basis.
